Otonabee Open a Huge Hit!

The PDGC’s second annual summer tournament went off without a hitch and indeed had something for everyone. Out of towners and locals alike were treated to some down home Peterborough hospitality which had everyone end the day with a full belly, two great rounds of disc golf and a prize to boot. There was an ace, a mad skills showcase, not one but three barbecues, corn on the cob and pie! How do you top that? Well, you’ll have to wait ’til next year because the PDGC likes to step it up at every tournament.

The four divisions, AM1 (advanced), AM2 (intermediate) REC (recreational) and Womens’s, all provided just the right amount of competition for everyone’s liking. Winners were PDGC members Aaron “AC” Clarke and Mike “Mr. T.” in the AM1 and AM2 groupings, while Danny V took the REC class and Jen Upton battled with Marj and Jess to eventually win the Women’s division.

Thanks are due to the Ottawa Disc Golf Club with CTP donations and representation from club secretary Don and nation capital hucker Adam. Many thanks to all from the club who offered up endless energy, time, food and various services. No need to name names, as we all do it for the love of the game. In need of some more Peterborough DG love? Up next is the Ace Race, Saturday, October 1st. Oh yeah.
